This leads to the assumption that it is the Dropbox language setting that causes UK/AU/CA users to see wrong date formats. The issue is when going back to the format cells box, clicking the Number tap, in the category list. I formatted the Long Date by creating a custom date format, and it displayed the day of the week with the long date format in the cell. In our case, we will select the YMD format. The Long Date formatting does not display the day of the week.
